Kaitlin Mixon of Fairhope, Ala., is the 2026 College of Nursing recipient of the President’s Award, one of the university’s highest student honors. Given annually to one student from each college, the award recognizes students who demonstrate outstanding qualities of leadership, citizenship, character and promise of professional ability. Selected by the dean, Mixon received the award from President Christopher B. Roberts earlier this month at the annual President’s Luncheon.

Helene Katzakian of Stockton, California, has been selected to represent the College of Nursing as its student marshal for Auburn University’s spring 2026 commencement ceremony. A recognition of academic achievement and leadership, student marshals are chosen based on their outstanding academic performance, leadership qualities, and involvement in the campus community.

It’s National Apprenticeship Week, and we are excited to celebrate our nurse apprenticeship program and the success of our nurse apprentices! In recognition of this special week, Auburn Mayor Ron Anders signed a proclamation declaring April 26 through May 2, 2026, as National Apprenticeship Week in the City of Auburn.
