Learning to identify normal and abnormal cardiovascular and respiratory sounds is a critically important part of nursing education. After learning about ongoing studies into metabolic dysfunction at Auburn, the Morrises funded a research project on insulin resistance awareness in the College of Nursing.

Once a month, Martin leads his students through “Tiger Tuesdays,” a full day of health promotion activities at Boykin. The mornings are spent working with senior citizens, and afternoons are for the children at the Boys & Girls Club.
